Research Scientist – Computer Vision and Deep Learning

Job description

We’re looking for an individual to join a talented team of research scientists as we prepare to bring DepthIQ™ – our passive, single-sensor depth platform – to market. This is a unique opportunity to apply your experience in computer vision and machine learning across a wide variety of use cases that leverage imaging and depth data in markets spanning mobile, consumer, industrial and automotive.


Who are we and what do we do?

We have a passion for developing solutions at the intersection of 2D imaging and depth. AIRY3D has developed DepthIQ™, a 3D computer vision platform that consists of a Transmissive Diffraction Mask and computational imaging software that can give any CMOS image sensor the ability to provide depth information. What are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computer vision. Experience in depth estimation is highly desirable, but not mandatory. We place a strong emphasis on the ability to design and train models for dense prediction, which is an essential requirement for this role. The candidate should have a proven track record of writing high-quality code based on research papers in these areas.


What you will do:

As a member of the Research Team, you will be responsible for developing advanced algorithms that extract depth from sensors equipped with our Transmissive Diffraction Mask and leverage that depth in advanced use cases such as anti-spoofing for facial login, gesture recognition and 3D-scene creation.

Job requirements

What you bring to our team

  • A Master's Degree or PhD in Computer Science (or related field) specializing in image processing, computational photography, or computer vision.
  • At least 5 years experience developing computational imaging solutions.
  • Strong preference will be given to candidates with proven experience in depth solutions (stereo, structured light, monocular depth estimation).
  • Expertise in deep learning algorithms in the field of computer vision, image processing, computational photography.
  • Experience with OpenCV, OpenCL, git, pytest, JIRA, PyTorch.
  • Expert in C++, Python, and object-oriented programming.
  • Attention to architectural considerations such as portability to embedded devices, real-time performance and efficient memory usage is required.


Bonus points

  • Experience with ML model deployment in embedded devices
  • Experience with quantization & optimization of DL models
  • Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
