Job description
We are looking for a recent CEGEP graduate to join our team to help test and improve our 3D imaging technology. If you are a maker, have a keen interest in optics, computer vision, and cool technology, you should be very excited about this opportunity. As a Junior Imaging Lab Specialist, you will be heavily involved in the testing, analysis, and continuous improvement of our DepthIQ™ powered 3D sensors in the optics lab at our Montreal office. This is a unique opportunity to join an established start-up doing ground-breaking work in single-sensor 3D depth.
Who are we and what do we do?
We have a passion for developing solutions at the intersection of 2D imaging and depth. AIRY3D has developed DepthIQ, a 3D computer vision platform that consists of a Transmissive Diffraction Mask and computational imaging software that can give any CMOS image sensor the ability to provide depth information.
Job requirements
What will you do?
- Perform image and depth quality testing in our state-of-the-art optics lab
- Analyze depth images to strengthen the understanding of our hardware and software
- Design and construct testing systems and devices
- Benchmark testing protocols
- Automate control of lab equipment to streamline repeated measurements
- Build new and unique demos ranging from face anti-spoofing to object dimensioning
What do you need to have?
- College (DEC/DCS) degree in physical science or engineering
- Hands-on experience using optical components and instruments
- Theoretical knowledge of fundamental optical principles
- Programming skills (Python preferred)
- Ability to work on site in our Montreal office
Bonus points
- Proficiency in general mechanical and electronics assembly/design
- Familiarity with CAD / 3D printer / Arduino
- Interest in photography
- Cool side projects!
